Saif Is In ‘Love Aaj Kal’ With His Maiden Venture!

There are loads of films waiting to release this year, but standing out is Imtiaz Ali’s Love Aaj Kal. Love Aaj Kal is also the inaugural project of Saif Ali Khan and Dinesh Vijan's production house Illuminati films. The movie has an awe-inspiring star cast which involves Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone in the lead, followed by some startling faces in the form of Rahul Khanna and Rishi Kapoor in supporting roles. The film revolves around a cafeteria in London wherein Jai (Saif Ali Khan) and Meera (Deepika Padokone) are regulars out there. Soon as cupid strikes, love blossom between the two. The owner of the cafeteria Veer Singh (Rishi Kapoor) has a very intriguing part to play in this amorous saga. The movie is said to be enthused by a Taiwanese film by Hou Hsiao-Hsien called "Three Times”. There was a lot of perplexity adjudicating the title of the movie, until they came up with the title Love Aaj Kal. The film is mostly shot in places like Red Fort, Purana Qila and on the streets of Delhi, whereas some parts of the film have been shot in London, San Francisco and Kolkata. After the exalted success of both his films ‘Socha Na tha’ and ‘Jab We met’, this one is director Imtiaz Ali’s third film. The million dollar question is could he make it three in a row? Well, Love Aaj Kal sounds so much like Jab We Met as both the titles involve the usage of “HINGLISH” and even the concealed plot seems to be the same. But, Saif and Imtiaz have more to it and we can expect fireworks and innovations from the movie. Deepika Padukone has been declared the most searched celeb on Yahoo, which signifies how much popularity and potency the film carries with it. It has a star cast which will be highly anticipated and appreciated by the viewers. Also with this Deepika comes in competition with Katrina Kaif, as she is the most googled celeb. When we talk about Imtiaz Ali’s Love Aaj Kal, we have to take into consideration the music element of the movie. The man responsible is the highly acclaimed music director Pritam, who connects to the contemporary society with his own unique style. Pritam is so keen and particular with his music that, when Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan didn’t get visa to soar down to Mumbai for a song recording of Love Aaj Kal, he sang the song in a studio in Pakistan and sent it to Pritam via e-mail. The film’s only concern is the fight between the producers and the multiplex owners as 26th June 09 is the releasing date tentatively. As this dispute continues, the delay will always be there which can hamper the movie’s fate at the box office. Apart from that, everything is done and dusted as Love Aaj Kal official movie website is on the loose. Director Imtiaz Ali has put in the same ingredients in the website which he did in his previous project. Fingers are crossed as this one is all set to break free……
